MR. FINCHER KILLED IN A CAR WRECK LAST SATURDAY

Last Saturday, shortly after noon, a new Ford sedan car was overturned on
the highway just south of Five Points, and J.D. Fincher of LaGrange was
killed and his two small sons injured, and also injured a Mr. Fuller also of
LaGrange. It is said that a tire blew out while the car was moving at a
rapid rate of speed and this caused the accident, which had such a tragic
result. Mr. Fincher was foreman of one of the departments in one of the
LaGrange cotton mills and formerly lived in Roanoke. He was about 40 years
of age. His body was intererd at Lebanon cemetery near Roanoke on Sunday
afternoon with Rev. J.D. Dollar officiating.
