  ALEMAN

Faye Aldona Hopert Aleman, 76, of Akron, Ohio, passed away peacefully on
Jan. 18, 1997, in the home that she lovingly shared with her husband of 47
years. She was born in Glen Savage, Pa., on Sept. 25, 1920, and graduated
from Somerset High School. Faye made a lifelong commitment to the Akron
community in which she worked, raising a family and dedicating herself to
her church and the selfless care of others. During World War II, Faye came
to Akron to help manufacture blimps and fighter planes. During summers, she
returned to Pennsylvaina to help with her family's farm. After the war, she
relocated to Akron and became a secretary in the advertising department at
Firestone. She left Firestone in 1951 to raise her family and devote her
life to beloved activities such as Daughters of the American Revolution and
Williard United Church of Christ, of which she was a member for 28 years and
regularly sang in the choir. Because of her church devotion and service, she
was once fittingly named Williard's "Woman of the Year." Never one to
retire, she also worked for 20 years at American Printing and, for nearly
13 years up until her death, volunteered daily at a Senior Citizen Lunch
Program, Faye is survived by her husband, Ramon; son and daughter-in-law,
Dallas and Nancy, and grandchildren Natalie and Alexander; son and
  daughter-in-law, Gary and Mindy, and grandchildren Hunter and Troy;
daughter and son-in-law Carla (Kears) and Joseph and grandchildren Kimberly
and Kate, brother and sister-in-law Lee and Lorene Hoppert of Fairhope. Also
survived by her beloved paretns, Carrie Detter Hoppert and Fred Hoppert, and
sister, Betty Lou Hoppert Maust. "Aunt Faye" will be remembered for her
boundless energy, her down-to-earth demeanor and goodness that made it as
joy to know her and be inspired by her deeds. She never thought of herself,
but only of others in pain or in need.
Deaner Funeral Home, Rev. Russell Kessler officiating. In lieu of flowers,
memorials may be made to William United Church of Christ, 742 Johnson St.,
  Akron, Ohio 44306.
