"Bud" Alcott, 82, New Stanton, formerly of Confluence, died Dec. 13, 2001, at his home. Born Oct. 11, 1919 in Confluence, a son of the late Samuel B. and Sara (Beatty) Alcott. In addition to his parents, preceded in death by brothers, Walter and George. Survived by wife, Lois (Turney) Alcott; daughters, Martha Jane Dimpel and husband, Jerry, of Pittsburgh, Sara Alcott Hart and husband, Bill of Stow, Ohio; a son, Samuel and wife, Paula of West Newton; and six grandchildren. A US Army veteran of World War II. Member of Confluence VFW Post 7250 and Ursina American Legion Post 946. Friends received from 4 to 9 pm Saturday at the Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence, and from 10 am until 2 pm., the hour of service, Sunday. Rev. David Lee officiating. Interment, Ursina Cemetery.
