  ADAMSKY
  
  Michael A. Adamsky, 83, Somerset, and formerly of Masontown, died Dec. 14,
  1998, at home.  Born March 9, 1915, in Bessemer, son of Albert and Catherine
  (Hyscheck) Adamsky.  A World War II United States Army veteran, he served in
  Company A, 26th Infantry Regiment, First Division (Big Red One) and
  participated in eight major campaigns in Africa and Europe, including three
  amphibian landings at Tunisia, Sicily and Normandy's Omaha Beach on D-Day.
  Mr. Adamsky received numerous service awards, including two Purple Hearts,
  the Bronze Star, the Combat Infantry Badge, the European-Aferican-Middle
  Eastern Service Medal with seven Bronze Stars and Bronze Arrowhead.  After
  his military discharge, Mr. Adamsky was employed by the Buckeye Coal Co.
  from which he retired in 1980.  He was a member of the United Mine Workers
  of America District 4 Local 6290.  Mr. Adamsky was a member of All Saints
  Parish in Masontown, Knights of Columbus, Catholic Veterans of Foreign
  Wars, VFW Firing Squad, American Legion, the Society of the First Division,
  North American Fishing Club, Bass Anglers Sportsman's Society and the
  National Rifle Assoc.  His wife Juliana Zeigler Adamsky, whom he married on
  June 17, 1950, preceded him in death on Aug 30, 1977.  A daughter, Janine,
  died Oct. 30, 1977.  Also deceased are a sister, Mary Frances Adamsky, two
  brothers: Louis Vincent Adamsky and Joseph Albert Adamsky, and his parents.
  Survivingn children include stepchildren: Rita Rossi Stafford and her
  husband, Richard and Carl Rossi, children, Kathleen Jarrett and her
  husband, Ken, Michael Adamsky and his wife, Shelia, and Simone Biacchi and
  her husband, Louis, and eight grandchildren.  Friends will be received in
  the John S. Maykuth Jr. Funeral Home, corner of Church and River avvenues,
  Masontown, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.  Funeral services will begin on
  Thursday at 10:30 am at the Maykuth Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of
  Christian Burial at 11 am in All Saints Roman Catholic Church, Masontown,
  with the Rev. Fr. James E. Bump as celebrant.  Interment will follow in St.
  Agnes Cemetery, Leckrone, where military honors will be accorded by VFW
  Post 4584.
