  ACKERMAN
  
  Royal S. Ackerman, 92, of Kantner died March 1, 1983, at Windber Hospital.
  He was born March 6, 1890, in Quemahoning Township, a son of John H. and
  Mary (Hite) Ackerman.  Preceded in death by parents; his first wife, the
  former Delilah Esther Watt; infant daughter; one brother and two sisters.
  Survived by his wife, the former Margaret (Shaulis) Christner; son, Orva
  Lee, married to Edith Griffith, Tacoma Park, Md.; granddaughter, Mrs.
  Kenneth (Brenda Jean) Lemkelde, Maryland; step-daughters, Mrs. Edwin (Mary)
  Adams, Ypsilanti, Mich., and Mrs. Marilyn Stephens, Belleville, Mich.; five
  step-grandchildren.  He was a brother of Mrs. Violet Esposita of Parlin, NJ.
  Also a number of nieces and nephews.  He was a member of the Seventh Day
  Adventist Church of Somerset.  Retired coal miner.  Member of Jenners Local
  1742 UMW of A. Army veteran of World War I.  Charter member of Robert P.
  Hite Post 257 American Legion of Stoystown and Somerset Barracks 3218 World
  War I Veterans.  Family will recieve friends from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Thursday at
  Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where services will be held at 2pm Friday,
  Mr.  Richard Haas, speaker.  Interment Lambertsville Cemetery.
