Anniston Star
Largus B. Birchfield 57, of Welllngton, died at 8:30. o'clock yesterday morning 
at his home following a short illness. Funeral services will be held this 
afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at Concord Baptist Church in Clay County, the Mt 
Hydrick officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery, Usrey in charge. 
He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Mrs. E. R. Standeffer of 
Birmingham, Mrs. H. M. Hagan of Gadsden and Mrs. Nathan Cobb of Anniston; two 
sons, William C. and Largus L. Birchfield; five sisters, Mrs. D. A. McKay of 
Anniston, Mrs. Roy Denman of Anniston, Mrs. Cobb of Chicago. Mrs. J. Schultz, 
Mrs. William Schults and Mrs. L. Owens, and five grandchildren. Active 
pallbearers will be Earl Harrelson, Aubrey Harrelson, Mack Smith, James Hamlin 
and Froal Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Nunnelly, Jay Smith, Joe 
Saxon, Wheeler Britain, Pat Owens, Leroy Chastain, Lawrence Harrelson, Aubrey 
Curvin. F. J. Little, Fred and Robert Howard. Ples Bryant, C.B. Cain, Porter 
Casey and William Waugh. Mr. Birchfield, a groceryman had lived most of his life 
in Wellington and was a member of the Mount View Baptist Church.
