Hagerstown Mail, March 26, 1875
On the 16th inst., Mrs. MAGDALENA ROHRER, in the 84th year of her age.
The deceased was well known and greatly beloved by a large circle of friends.
She was the last surviving member, in her own generation, of one of the largest
and oldest families of the community. Her death, while a happy release for
herself, is a heavy affliction to the home which her departure has left indeed
desolate.

Additional Comments:
Magdalena (1791-1875) was one of seven daughters of Martin Rohrer, who died in
Washington County in 1806. In 1810 she married Samuel Rohrer, and became the
mother of three sons. One of them, Martin, migrated to Ohio where he married
and raised a family, in time becoming my great, great grandfather.
