Our Mountain Home December 20, 1933
Farm women of Clay County won the sweepstakes in the county and organization 
class at the 1933 international canning contest at the Century of Progress 
Chicago, it was learned here Saturday Clay County women received a $600 cash 
prize and a trophy presented by the Country Home magazine. Several individual 
prizes were won by women of that county. Among the Clay County farm women who won 
prizes were Miss Mary Anne Jacobs, Miss Lennie Pearl Merrill and Mrs. A. B. 
Prickett, who live on the county line, route 3, Talladega Misses Merrill and 
Jacobs won $1 $2 prizes and Mrs. Prickett won $1 prize.
