James W. Hampton, 72, of 300 N. 35th St., died Tuesday at Veterans Affairs
Medical Center.
He was a native of Bowling Green, a retired employee of the old Indiana Army
Ammunition Plant in Charlestown, Ind., and an Army veteran.
Survivors: a daughter, Deborah Todd; six sons, Thomas Hampton of Columbia,
S. C., Desmond Brown of Atlanta, Shelton Courtney of Germany, Derrick,
Daymon and James Hampton II; a sister, Thelma Grant of Akron, Ohio; and
three grandchildren.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Friday, A. D. Porter & Sons Funeral Home, 1300 W. Chestnut
St. Burial: Green Meadows Memorial Cemetery. Visitation:
7-9 p.m. Thursday.
