Atkinson County Citizen - May 20, 2009
   Mr. Ware B. Gurley, age 90 of Woodstock, GA. formerly of Atkinson County p
passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at his residence in Woodstock, GA following a
an extended illness. A native of Murray County, Mr. Gurley was born September 3
30, 1918 son of Emory and Ellen Baker Gurley. He had made his home in Atkinson C
County for many years before moving to Woodstock, GA in 1966. He worked for m
many years in the mobile home industry and was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. He w
was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. A son Wade G
Gurley preceded him in death. 
  Survivors include; Wife, Betty Delk Gurley of Woodstock, GA, 1 daughter, 
Becky Dysart and husband Bobby of Woodstock, GA, 1 son, Boyd Burley and wife 
Karen of Franklin, TN, 1 brother, Bruce Gurley of Augusta, GA, 6 grandchildren, 
5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. 
  Funeral services for Mr. Gurley were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 23, 2009 at Mt.
Z
Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Johnson officiating. Special musical selec
selections included "I Bowed On My Knees and Cried Holy," rendered by soloist Diane
Diane Davis with taped accompaniment, "Precious Memories" rendered acappella by
soloi
soloist Regina Delk and "Amazing Grace" by the attending congregation with Chris
Christopher Davis accompanying on the piano. Prelude and Postlude selections offer
offered by Christopher Davis pianist. 
  The interment followed in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. 
  Serving as active pallbearers were, Danny Delk, Greg Delk, Leslie Delk, Allen Mor
Morrow, Scott Miller and Colin McNulty.
  Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
