Ashland Progress June 24, 1910
This pleasure resort is now open for visitors, and they are arriving almost
daily. Several families have already moved into their cottages and others are to
come within a few days. Quite a number of improvements have just been made,
which add to the pleasure and comfort of the guests. A beautiful new sitting
room has just been provided at the depot and the walks and yards have been
beautified. The large and commodious hotel is provided with modern conveniences
and a lighting plant has been installed, which gives the entire place a wealth
of light at night. Mr. W.R. Buchanan, of Talladega, is in charge of the springs
this season. Arrangement are being made to establish a Post office here and it
is thought that it will be in operation within a few days.

Oct 13, 1911, Talladega Reporter
Clairmont Springs, the popular summer resort for Talladega citizens, has been
purchased by Mr. J. M. Jackson, who will reside there and run the hotel in the
future. The springs were owned by Talladega parties, many of whom own cottages
there, which are reserved in the deal. The consideration is said to be around
$15,000.
