CHRISTIANS, James Shannon

1864-1954

James Shannon Christians, 89, of Yatesville, a retired stone mason and farmer, 
died Monday at his home after an illness of two years. Funeral services were 
conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the residence by the Rev. Fred VanHorn. Burial 
was in the Moore Cemetery at Fallsburg, KY. Mr. Christians was born on Griffiths 
Creek, June 1, 1864, a son of the late William A. and Elizabeth Shannon 
Christians. He was married 47 years ago to Miss Virginia Moore, who survives. 
Additional survivors include four daughters, Mrs. John Hughes of Cadmus, KY, 
Mrs. Charlie Collins of Jackson, OH, Mrs. James Edison Sparks of Yatesville and 
Miss Doshia Christians at home, and 10 grandchildren and three great 
grandchildren. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Curtright
