CAMPBELL, Victoria (Berry)

1876-1955

Funeral rites for Mrs. Victoria Spillman Campbell, 79, of Louisa, route 4, who 
died at her home Wednesday night of last week, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday 
at the Midway Church on Louisa, route 3, by the Rev. Gallie Isaac and the Rev. 
Felix Skaggs. Burial was made in the Spillman Cemetery. Mrs. Campbell made her 
home with a daughter, Mrs. J.R. Diamond. The body was taken to the home at 11 
a.m. Friday from the Curtright Funeral Home. Mrs. Campbell was born June 15, 
1876, at Louisa, route 3, a daughter of the late John and Parmelia Wellman 
Berry. She had been a member of the Free Will Baptist Church for 20 years. Her 
first husband, James Wiley Spillman, died in 1923. Her second husband, James 
Campbell died in 1942. Surviving in addition to Mrs. Diamond are two other 
daughters, Mrs. Claude Sawyer of Mount Gay, WV and Mrs. Jay Wellman of 
Webbville, route 1, a son, Willie Spillman of Louisa route 4, and 17 
grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Big Sandy News, December 22, 1955
