BURCHETT, Nancy (Ratcliff)

Mrs. Nancy Ratcliff Burchett, 63, died on Thursday of this week at a hospital in 
Louisa, where she was taken a few hours before in a hopeless condition. She was 
thought to be dying at 3 o'clock a.m. but revived. She had been suffering from 
diabetes for several years and became seriously ill last Sunday. She came here 
from Wayland in 1933 and had been living at the Louisa Inn since that time. The 
funeral and burial arrangements have not been made at the time this is being 
written. Mrs. Burchett as the widow of Robert Burchett, a native of this county, 
who died out 15 years ago. They lived in Louisa for many yeas, whiel Mr. 
Burchett was a merchant here. She was a native of Pike County and belonged to 
one of the prominent families of that county, the Ratcliffs. Mrs. Burchett was a 
member of the M. E. Church, South. She had many friends throughout the Big Sandy 
Valley. Two brothers survive, Jim of Cincinnati and Tom of California. Big Sandy
