BERRY, Martin Van Buren

Martin Van Buren Berry, 94, a retired farmer, and minister, died at 4:10 
p.m. Saturday at his home in Ashland, following an illness of 5 weeks. Mr. 
Berry, a resident of Ashland for the past 3 years, was born in Lawrence 
County, KY, a son of James and Jincy Adams Berry, both natives of Lawrence 
County. He was quite well known in Lawrence county having been pastor of the 
United Baptist Church for a number of years. Funeral services were held 
Monday at 2 p.m. at the home of a niece, Elizabeth Berry, in Lawrence County 
with burial in the Berry family cemetery. The funeral party left Ashland at 
10 a.m. Monday morning. Surviving are 1 daughter, Mrs. Roxie VanHorn,
