BERRY, James Riley

1868-1952

James Riley Berry, 84, of Yatesville, KY died at 7 p.m. Sunday night at his 
home. Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Bradley Gap 
Freewill Baptist Church at Yatesville, by the Rev. Fred Vanhorn. Burial was in 
the Short Cemetery at Louisa, route 3. Mr. Berry was born February 26, 1868, at 
Blaine, KY, a son of the late Alfred and Hannah Berry. He was a retired farmer. 
Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Sarah Jane Spillman Berry; seven daughters, 
Mrs. Arthur Cantrell, Mrs. Hubert Cantrell, Mrs. Ova Adams and Mrs. Noah Skaggs 
of Columbus, OH, Mrs. Ed Waldron of Avondale, WV, Mrs. John Boggs of Webbville, 
KY and Miss Jettie Berry at home; two sons, George B. Berry of Columbus and 
Milton Berry of Davin, WV and 37 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. 
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Curtright Funeral Home. Big
