BERNARD, Malissa (Adkins)

1886-1964

Malissa Adkins Bernard, 78, died Saturday at 7 p.m. at her home near Fallsburg, 
KY, following an illness of three years. She was born January 8, 1886, in the 
Twin Branch section of Lawrence County. She was the daughter of the late John 
and Louisa Large Adkins. Graveside rites were conducted Sunday afternoon at 4 
p.m. with the Rev. Gallie Isaac officiating. Interment was made in the Bernard 
Cemetery. Survivors include a son, John J. Bernard, at home; one brother, Jonah 
Adkins, Ironton, OH, two sisters, Mrs. Victoria Jordan of Chillicothe, OH and 
Mrs. Sarah Diamond of Columbus, OH. Arrangements were made by the Curtright
