Ashland Progress
Mrs. Aminda Jane Ramsey Bearden passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. 
L. Pace, and Mr. Pace on Thursday, October 23rd. The deceased was eighty-three 
years of age and had been in feeble health for a long time. She was a native of 
Calhoun County but moved to Clay County when only a small child. Mrs. Bearden 
was the widow of Mr. W. S. E. Bearden, who preceded her in death about sixteen 
years. She is survived by five children: Mrs. R. L. Pace and Grover Bearden, 
Ashland; Mrs. Grace Brooks, Tuscaloosa; Ed Bearden, Birmingham; Mrs. Ed Sheldon, 
Mobile, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Last rites were held 
at Sardis Methodist Church, of which she had been a member for a long period of 
years, on Friday, October 24th, with Dr. K. L. Rudolph, pastor of the Ashland 
Methodist Church, and Rev. Webb Brooks, pastor of the Ashland Baptist Church, 
officiating. Interment was in adjoining cemetery, directed by Blair. Pallbearers 
were Bill Pace, Leverett Pace, Curtis Pace, Jim Pace, E. D. Riley, Jr., and 
Billy Bearden, grandsons.
