A Happy Marriage
----------------------------
At the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. N. CLIFTON, on Sunday evening, April 26th, an
impressive marriage ceremony took place, the contracting parties being Mr. Alfred
REAVES and Miss Ruby CLIFTON. A large crowd gathered to witness the happy event.
Miss Nora SMITH rendered the wedding march beautifully. Rev. W. J. LOVVORN,
Baptist minister, performed the ceremony. The bridal couple were attended by the
following well known young people of Wedowee:

Mr. T. M. SWANN and Miss Alice WILLOUGHBY,
Mr. Joe DOBSON and Miss Ola ROBERTSON,
Dr. J. C. SWANN and Miss Pearl CLIFTON,
Mr. A. H. GIBBS and Miss Janie OLIVER,
Prof. J. L. O. RICHEY and Miss Victoria MURPHY.

Each of the young ladies was appropriately and tastefully attired. After the words were
pronounced which made Mr. REAVES and Miss CLIFTON man and wife the friends
poured in congratulations upon the happy couple. Mr. REAVES has a host of friends, and
Miss CLIFTON has by her gentle, womanly spirit, won the sincere respect of a large circle
of friends. A bountiful supper was prepared, which was partaken by a goodly number of
friends. On Monday those who had stood up with the bride and groom were invited to an
elegant dinner which was served at the home of Judge Reaves. After a few hours which
were spent pleasantly all went home wishing the newly married couple a prosperous
voyage on the matrimonial sea.
