Democrat and sentinel: (Ebensburg, Pa.) 1853-1866: November 21, 1855
On Monday the 19th inst., at the residence of Peter M'Gough, Esq., in Clearfield
township, Cambria county, John Anderson, Esq., aged about sixty years. The deceased
was among the early pioneers of this mountain. What is now the highly cultivated and
fertile region of the clearfield, was a howling wilderness when he first located
there. He bore through life the character of an honest, industrious and kind hearted
man. His memory will be cherished.
