Ashland Progress
Funeral services for Mr. C. B. Beck, who died after a short illness on last 
Thursday morning were held at the Olive Branch Baptist church, where he held his 
membership, on last Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Mr. Beck was 68 years of age, 
the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Beck and had spent his entire life in the 
community in which he died. He is survived by his wife, who was Miss Mollie 
Elliott, and two sons, Cecil, of the Olive Branch community, and Albert of 
Purvis, Miss.; two brothers, J. A., Ashland, and E. E., Sylacauga and seven 
sisters, Mrs. H. L. Haynes, Mrs. O. O. Bunn, Ashland, Mrs. Jesse Treadwell, 
Clanton, Mrs. W. T. Barton, Albertville, Mrs. J. D. West, West Falls Church, 
Va., Mrs. Miles A. Churchill, Birmingham, Mrs. J. J. Robertson, Ocoee, Fla. Rev. 
F. J. Ingram was in charge of the service and was assisted by Elder H. H. 
Goodman. Interment was in the Olive Branch cemetery, Blair directing.
