Funeral services for John Wesley Adamson, 62, of Wedowee, Rt. 2, were held 
Tuesday at 11 a.m., at Mt Pleasant Baptist Church with the Revs. Hobart Murphree 
and Alvin Dempsey officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with 
Quattlebaum's Funeral Home in charge. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Delia 
Bean Adamson; seven sons, Willard of New Jersey, Buford, Earl, Bobby Gene and 
Dwayne, all of Wedowee, Alford of LaFayette and Comer of the U. S. Air Force in 
California; four daughters, Mrs. Edna Ruth Moore and Mrs. Irma Key, both of 
Wedowee, Mrs. Evelyn Cumbee of Spartanburg, S. C., and Mrs. Laverne Dodson of 
Anniston; one brother, Ezra Adamson of Mobile; four sisters, Mrs. Leslie Smith 
of Roanoke, Mrs. Nancy Taylor of Wadley, Mrs. Carrie Bell Casey of Flint, Mich., 
and Mrs. Edither Smith of Ocala, Fla., and 18 grandchildren. Pallbearers were 
Olin Messer, Roy Mitchell, Joel Bunn, Durell Mitchell, Albert Cofield and 
Winfred Holloway. Mr. Adamson was a farmer and had resided in Randolph County 
all his life.
