"The Piedmont Herald" Piedmont, West Virginia, Thur 26 Oct 1950: "
Requiem High Mass for Mrs. Elizabeth Cleaver, wife of George C. Cleaver,
Moorefield, WV, formerly of here, who died Thursday in Allegany Hospital,
Cumberland, was celebrated Tuesday in St. Peter's Catholic Church,
Westernport, by the Rev. Charles Quinn, assistant pastor. Rev. Msgr. A.
Scarpati, pastor, and Rev. George Pugh, assistant pastor of St. Peter's,
and Rev. Kilgannon, Richmond, VA were in the sanctuary. Interment was in
St. Peter's cemetery. A native of Piedmont, Mrs. Cleaver was the daughter
of the late John and Mary Gilmore, and had moved to Moorefield in June,
1949. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic church, the Sodality of
the Blessed Virgin Mary of the parish and the Catholic daughters of
America. Mrs. Cleaver was stricken suddenly Thursday morning at her home
in Moorefield. Apparently she had been in good health on Wednesday, when
she attended the funeral of a cousin, John Gilmore, in Cumberland. Besides
her husband, she is survived by a son, Jerry Cleaver, Baltimore; and a
sister, Mrs. W. H. Greenway, Pittsburgh. Pallbearers were John Watson,
Carr Getty, John Determan, James Laffey, Thomas Moran and James Kenny."
