GEORGE B. CHARLTON
ROMNEY -- George Baker Charlton, 61, of RD 6, died Monday at Memorial Hospital, 
Cumberland, after a brief illness.
Born in Hampshire County, he was a son of the late Morey L. and Cora E. (Biser) 
Charlton.
He was a retired carpenter, a former employee of West Virginia State Department 
of Highways, and a member of Beaver Run Church of the Brethren.
Surviving are his widow, Mary (Likens) Charlton; four sons, George B. Charlton 
Jr.; Jason T., Jack F., and James T. Charlton, at home; four daughters, Mrs. 
Jean Hawkins, Fort Ashby; Miss Joyce E. Charlton, Cumberland; Miss Janet M. and 
Miss Judy V. Charlton, at home; a step-daughter, Mrs. Betty J. West, 
Cumberland; a brother, James F. Charlton, Burlington; four sisters, Mrs. Mary 
F. Hamilton, Mrs. Dorothy Kile, Miss Lydia W. Charlton, here, and Mrs. Myrtle 
Leatherman, Keyser; three grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.
The body is at the Wells-Miller Funeral Home, where friends will be received 
today from 7 to 9 p.m.
A service will be conducted at the Beaver Run Church of the Brethren tomorrow 
at 2 p.m. Rev. Walter Westrom and Rev. Sloan Staggs will officiate.  Interment 
will be in Arnold Cemetery, near Junction.  The body will be taken to the 
church one prior to the service.
