"Piedmont Herald" Piedmont, West Virginia, Fri 8 Jan 1915: "
Death's Doings-Mr. Patrick Carey, of Luke, died Wednesday, Jan 6, 1915, at the 
Hoffman Hospital, Keyser, where he was taken about one week ago. His condition 
was such that an operation could not be performed. Mr. Carey was 69 years of 
age. His wife and six children survive him: J. F. Carey, superintendent of 
engines on the third division of the B & O: Joseph Carey, of Piedmont; John 
Carey, master mechanic of the Southern Pacific R.R. at Marshall, Texas; Misses 
Margaret and Winnie Carey, of Marshall, Texas, and Mrs. M.F. O'Brien, of 
Roanoke, Va. The funeral will be held from St. Peter's Catholic church 
tomorrow, Saturday morning, at nine o'clock."
