DEATH OF ARCHIBALD CAMERON OF LONACONING
   Archibald Cameron, one of the Scotch pioneers of Lonaconing, passed to his 
eternal rest at 12:30 yesterday.  Mr. Cameron fell off the Detmold trestle two 
weeks ago and sustained severe internal injuries.  About a week ago pneumonia 
set in and the old man succumbed despite the best medical skill and the 
tenderest nursing.
   Archibald Cameron was born in Tolcross, Lanarkshire, Scotland Sept. 1, 
1836.  He was married in Scotland and came to this country in 1866 bringing 
with him his wife and two children.  He settled in Lonaconing and for 45 years 
lived in the house in which he died.  He was a coal miner in Scotland and when 
he arrived here went to work in the Detmold mine of which his uncle, Douglas 
Love,was superintendent. It will be remembered that Douglas Love was 
(Illegible) Mollie Maguires in 1868. (Illegible several lines)  
Mrs.....Aldridge of Carlos, Mrs. George Kuliz, Mrs. Hugh Stafford, Mrs. Jas. 
Watson, and 19 grandchildren.  He was a member of the Free Gardners and 
Lonaconing Lodge No. 85, I.O.O.W.  The funeral will take place  on (Illegible) 
at the house of Rev. A.C. Thomsen and interment will be made in Oak Hill 
cemetery.  Mr. Cameron's wife died six years ago and he will be buried beside 
her.
