Evening Times, Cumberland, Maryland, Mon 12 July 1943:  
"Wheeling, W. Va.--In St. Joseph's Cathedral this morning a high 
mass of requiem was celebrated for Myles (Bob) Byrne, 42, former 
employe of the Lambus cafe and a resident of Wheeling for the 
past 22 years, who died Thursday.  Although ill for the last 18 
months, Mr. Byrne's death was sudden.  Interment was in Mount 
Calvary Cemetery.  Mr. Byrne was born in Lonaconing, Md. on Dec. 
18, 1900, a son of the late Myles and Mary Ricker Byrne.  He was 
educated at St. Joseph's parochial school in Midland, Md. and 
came to Wheeling as a young man.  Employed as a bartender at the 
Lambus cafe on Sixteenth Street prior to his illness, he was 
also a bartender at the old Fort Henry cafe on Market Street at 
one time.  Mr. Byrne was a member of the Bartender's union.  
Surviving are his wife, Ina Burke Byrne; a brother, Paul J. 
Byrne, of this city; five sisters, Mrs. T. A. McQuistion, of 
Deandale, Ohio; Mrs. Michael Cunningham, of Midland, Md.; Miss 
Adelaide Byrne and Mrs. Raymond Flanagan, both of Wheeling, and 
Mrs. John R. Purdy, of Keyser, W. Va."
