Cumberland Evening Times   December 22, 1950
   Hyndman, Pa.--Mrs. Bertha Rebecca Bittner, 57, wife of Allen Bittner, died 
last night at her home, RD 1.
      A native and life-long resident of this area, she was the daughter of 
the late Samuel and Ida (Emerick) Leplay.  Mrs. Bittner was a member of the 
Gladdens Reformed Church
      Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, Merle, Harvey and 
Lester Bittner; a daughter Mrs. Irvin Kennell, all of RD 1; four brothers, 
Earl Leplay, Potmac Park, Md; James Leplay, Wellersburg; Harvey Leplay, Sand 
Patch and Lonza Leplay, RD i; two sisters, Mrs. Ella Korne, RD 1 and Miss Mary 
Leplay, Cumberland and three grandchildren.
      The body will be taken to the residence.  Services will be conducted at 
2:30 p.m. Sunday in Gladdems Church.  Rev. Carl H. Clapp, pastor of St. Mark's 
Reformed Church, Cumberland, will officate and interment will be in the Leplay 
Cemetery.
