Evening Times, Cumberland, Maryland, 24 Apr 1926: 
"Tri-Towns-Remarks On Numerous Deaths-And Then Dies-The death 
of Mrs. Annie Bell, widow of James Bell, removes from this 
section one of its most wildely known and best liked women. 
Mrs. Bell suffered a stroke of apoplexy early Wednesday 
morning and died Thursday at 8:50 p. m.  She had remarked the 
night before about the large number of her friends who had 
recently died in Piedmont and had spent a great part of the 
evening at the home of Mrs. Mary M. Fallon whose funeral took 
place Wednesday.  Mrs. Bell was born at Tunnelton, W. Va., in 
1861, the daughter of Patrick and Mary Welsh, pioneer settlers. 
She was married in 1886 to James Bell, whose death occurred 
about ten years ago. She had been a resident of Piedmont for 
forty years.  Three children survive: Mrs. William Kelly, Mrs. 
Edward Pendergast and Charles J. Bell, the former two of 
Piedmont and the latter of Westernport, Thomas Welsh, McKees 
Rocks, Pa., and Chas. J. and Michael J. Welsh, Cumberland are 
surviving brothers.  The funeral will he held Monday morning 
from St. Peter's Catholic church, Westernport, with solemn 
requiem high mass."
