Evening Times, Cumberland, Maryland, 24 Aug 1944: 
"John M. Bahan Rites-Frostburg-August 24-Rites were held yesterday 
morning in St Michael's Catholic church for John Michael Bahen, 65, 
of 14 Washington street, who died Sunday afternoon in Miners' 
Hospital. The Rev. Dominic A. Bonomo, assistant pastor of St. 
Michael's church, was celebrant of the requiem mass. Interment was 
in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were William Laing, J. E. Barry, 
Joseph Foster, Jr., William Pressman, Peter Lyons and Roger Murray."



Evening Times, Cumberland, Maryland, 21 Aug 1944: 
"Frostburg, Aug. 21-John Michael Bahen, 65, of 14 Washington street, 
died yesterday afternoon at Miners Hospital where he had been a 
patient since Wednesday.  A son of Mrs. Isabelle (Murry) Bahen and 
the late Dennis Bahen, he was a native of Vale Summit.  A former 
coal miner, he had recently been employed by the city in the water 
department.  He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic church and 
the Holy Name Society.  Besides his mother, he leaves his widow, 
Mrs. Anna (Nolan) Bahen, and the following children:  Mrs. John 
Laing, Martin and Daniel Bahen, at home; and Private Dennis Bahen, 
stationed in France.  He was a brother of Cornelius and Daniel Bahen, Steubenvllle, O., David Bahen, East Liverpool, Pa., Mrs. Joseph Kuhn, 
Middletown, O. Mrs. James Dixon and Mrs. Patrick Mooney, Detroit, 
Mich.   Three grandchildren also survive. The Holy Name Society will 
assemble at the home tomorrow evening to recite the Rosary.  Funeral 
services will be held from St. Michael's Catholic church, Wednesday, 
10:30 a. m., with interment in the parish cemetery."
