"The Herald" Piedmont, West Virginia, Thurs 11 Jan 1945: 
"Miss Jean C. Angle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William S. Angle, McCoole road, near Westernport, 
and Sgt. Daniel Myles Devlin, son of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Devlin, Midland, were married Monday 
morning at 9 o'clock at a nuptial mass at St. Peter's Catholic church, Westernport, celebrated 
by the Rev. Monsignor A. Scarpati, pastor, The Rev. Leon Warczyneki, and The Rev. Charles Quinn, 
assistant pastors, were in the sanctuary. The double ring ceremony was used. Mrs. Hazel Arnold 
Angle, Westernport, was her sister-in-law's matron-of-honor and Cpl. John Devlin, Midland, was 
his brother's best man. George Ord, Westernport, sang, "Strew Before Our Lady's Altar," and "On 
This Day O Beautiful Mother." Mrs. Ord played the organ. The bride, who was given in marriage 
by her father, wore a white satin gown on princess lines with a finger-tip veil and carried a 
bouquet of white carnations. Judith Ann and Rosemary Ord, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. George Ord, 
carried the bride's train. The matron-of-honor wore a pink satin net gown and carried a bouquet 
of pink carnations. A wedding breakfast was served at the Potomac hotel Piedmont, for the 
immediate families of the bridal couple. Sgt. and Mrs. Devlin have gone to Washington and 
Pittsburgh for their wedding trip. He will leave Jan. 23 to report for duty. The bride is a 
graduate of St. Peter's high school, class of 1942, and is employed in the office of the Luke 
plant of the West Virginia Pulp and Paper company. Sgt. Devlin is a graduate of Central high 
school, Lonaconing, and was employed at the Celanese plant when he entered the service. He is 
stationed at Matigorta Island, Foster Field, Texas. Mrs. Devlin will reside with her parents 
for the present."
