				GEORGE R. BARBER
	GEORGE R. BARBER, 81, of Leesburg, died at his residence on Friday, 
July 16, 2004.  He was born in Fleming County, Ky. on January 22, 1923, the son 
of the late ARTHUR and MARY ETTA PIERCE BARBER.
	Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, TERRY ANN 
BARBER, brothers JOHN and FLOYD BARBER, and a sister, ELECTA ROLFE.
	He was a retired farmer, served in the Army during World War II.  He 
was a lifetime member of the DAV and a former member of the Fayette County VFW.
	He is survived by his wife, DORA DEARTH BARBER, whom he married April 
15, 1943; four daughters, DORA (ROBERT) SONNENBURG, Pittsburg, Calif., CAROLYN 
TAYLOR, Colorado Springs, Colo., MENDY (SCOTT) SOUTHARD, South Lake, Tahoe, 
Calif., and CINDI (MUSA) EL-JOF, San Diego, Calif.; four sons, STEVE (CONNIE) 
BARBER of Clarksville, VICTOR (PLOY) BARBER, Bremerton, Wash., LARRY (JUANITA) 
BARBER, Tahuya, Wash., and PHILLIP BARBER, Tahuya, Wash.; 21 grandchildren and 
13 great-grandchildren.
	Funeral services at Littleton Funeral Home in Sabina.  Burial in Sugar 
Grove Methodist Cemetery in Fayette County.
