We encourage links to the state and county table of contents. ____________________________________________________________ BEATTY, Richard, Sr. July 11, 1900 Mr. Richard Beatty, Sr., of this town, died of pneumonia at his home in Wilkensburg last Wednesday July 11, at the age of 80 years. The deceased had been ill for about three months. He was born at Glasgow, Scotland, and came to this country with his parents when a child. They located in Pittsburg. remaining there until their death some years ago. Richard Beatty was for many years a commission merchant on Liberty Street, Pittsburg. The greater portion of his life he resided in Wilkensbirg. On March 28, 1848, Mr. Beatty was united in marriage to Miss Eliza Wilson of Wilkensburg. To them were born eight children., all of whom, with his wife, survive him. Funeral services were held at Mr. Beatty's late home on North Avenue, Wilkensburg Friday afternoon conducted by Rev. Dr. W. Miles, pastor of the Wilkensburg M.E. Church and Rev. Dr. Knox, presiding elder of the Allegheny District of the M.E. Church. Interment was made in Homewood Cemetery. ______________________________________________________________________
