CAPT. JOHN A. BARKER- Capt. John A. Barker, aged 77, died Tuesday at the
home of his daughter, Mrs. M. A. Scranton, in Baltimore, Md., where he had
made his home for the last 13 years.  Capt. Barker was born in old Allegheny,
his family being among the pioneer settlers there.  He was a nephew of the
late Joseph H. Barker, former mayor of Pittsburgh, and was a captain in the
Fourteenth Regiment, N. G. P.  He attended school in old Allegheny.  He was a
member of Past Monument Castle, Lodge 55, Knights of the Mystic Chain. 
Besides his daughter, he is survived by five sons, John, James, Burt, Roy and
Guy Barker, all of Pittsburgh.
