Mrs. Ball, 57, Dies; Church, Lodge Leader
   Mrs. Elizabeth R. Ball, 57, wife of James W. Ball, of 1517 First street, 
Natrona Heights, died in Allegheny Valley Hospital at 2:35 Sunday afternoon.
   Although she was in ill health for several years, her death was unexpected. 
She was admitted to the hospital Friday.
   Mrs. Ball, daughter of T. K. and the late Minnie E. Ross, was born in Ford 
City. Her family moved to Tarentum when she was about a year old and she has 
resided in this community since that time.
   Mrs. Ball was active in church and lodge work. She was a member of Grace 
Methodist Church, Natrona Heights, Order of Eastern Star in Tarentum and a 
past matron of Amaranth in New Kensington. She was also a member of First Ward 
YMCA Auxiliary and Blue Star Mothers in Tarentum. Mrs. Ball was chairman of 
the social committee of Tarentum Camp Grounds for several summer seasons and 
was a member of Progressive Class of Grace Church.
   Surviving are her husband; three daughters: Mrs. Harry (Jeanne) Meckey, Jr. 
and Mrs. Leonard (Ruth) Jendrey, Natrona Heights, and Mrs. Wylie (Doris) 
Oldham, Harrisburg; her father, T. K. Ross, Tarentum; four sisters: Mrs. Ralph 
(Dora) Sims, Tarentum; Mrs. Vyda Reynolds, Richmond, Ind.; Mrs. Willavene 
Imms, Weirton, W. Va., and Mrs. Leonard (Vivian) Knabelkamp, Buffalo, N.Y.; 
one brother. Rev. L. Laverne Ross, Shawnee, Okla., and nine grandchildren.
   Friends are being received in Ferver Funeral Home, Wood street and Fourth 
avenue, Tarentum, where funeral service will be held at 2 Wednesday afternoon 
by Rev. Robert Harlan Cairns. Burial will follow in Mount Airy Cemetery.
