OBITUARY RECORD.

DIED.

  At his residence in Hollidaysburg, on Sunday, the 16th inst. Mr. 
James Arthur, aged about 80 years.
  The deceased was followed to his grave by his fellow members of the 
Washington Greys, in military costume, and by a lengthy procession of 
his friends and acquaintances. For several years past he had filled the 
arduous and responsible post of Agent, at this place, for the Western 
Transportation Co.
  At a meeting of the Washington Greys held at their armory, on Monday 
evening May 17th 1841, it was on motion of Lieut. Landis, Unanimously
  Resolved, That the members of this corps have heard with feelings of 
deep regret of the sudden and unexpected death of their late member, 
James Arthur.
  Resolved, That as a remark of our respect for his memory, and sorrow 
for his loss, we will wear crape on the left arm for thirty days, and 
attend his funeral (with consent of the family) in our military 
capacity.
  Resolved, That Major Williams be requested to convey a copy of these 
resolutions to the widow of the deceased, and to assure her of the deep 
condolence of the Greys with her in her affliction. - Reg.
