Anniston Star June 2, 1940
D. H. Hunt of Delta, Route 1. has two odd trees on his place. A black-gum
sapling is growing from a full-grown pine about 10 feet from the ground. It is
several feet high and about two inches in diameter. Mr. Hunt says that it has
been growing that way for about 10 years. The other is a dogwood sprout that has
grown through a hole in an old V-harrow.
Mrs. Hunt has a pair of glasses that her grandfather A.T. Reagin, wore about 60
years ago. They have very small lenses and are set in yellow gold frames. She
also has an old glass pitcher used by her grandmother that is over 100 years
old. Another old relic is an old coca cola battle made in Columbus, Miss 56
years ago. They still have two wooden lasts for making shoes left by a great
grandfather.
