Atkinson County Citizen - May 29, 2014
Mrs. Janie Mae Perkins Andrews, age 70, of Pearson passed away early Monday 
morning, May 19, 2014, at her residence, following an extended illness. 
 Mrs. Andrews was born February 12, 1944, to the late Ruben LaGrande Perkins and 
the late Louise Bessie Coleman Perkins. Mrs. Andrews, a native of Lakeland, Polk 
County, FL, was a retired School Bus Driver. She retired from the Atkinson 
County School System. Mrs. Andrews was a member of the Ozias Freewill  Baptist 
Church of Pearson.
 Survivors include her husband, Robert Allan Andrews of Pearson, GA; children, 
Theresa Lynn Slack of Madisonville, TN, William Lyndon Craig of Statesboro, GA, 
Mary Evelyn Guthrie of Pearson, GA, Annie Louise Walker of Moultrie, GA, and 
Vernon Bradley Taylor of Atoka, TN; step-children, Darrell Lee Andrews of 
Oviedo, FL, David Wayne Andrews of Gallatin, TN, and Bonnie Marie Fortier of 
Tallahassee, FL; one sister, Mary Ruth Mooney of Statesboro, GA; twenty 
grandchildren, and a number of great-grandchildren, one niece and one nephew 
also survive.
 Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the Ozias 
Freewill Baptist Church, in Pearson, with Rev. Larry Johnson officiating. Rev. 
Ashley Guthrie was in charge of the Committal Service at the gravesite. Special 
musical selections, “Look for Me at Jesus’s Feet,” presented by the soloist, 
Robert A. Andrews, on the guitar, “Here I Am,” was rendered by the soloist and 
pianist, Michael Johnson, and “Celebrate Me Home,” was presented by Allison 
Guthrie and Karline Jordan, with Sarah Gentry at the piano. Prelude and postlude 
soft hymns were presented by the pianist, Sarah Gentry.
 Interment followed in the Ozias Cemetery in Atkinson County.
 Active pallbearers were Dallon Walker, Landon Walker, Marcus Adams, Will Craig, 
Ansley Guthrie, Michael Taylor, Don Michael Slack, Blake Taylor, Jimmie Shofner, 
Rev. Ashley Guthrie.
 Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
