Ashland Progress
G. W. Arnold, former citizen of Clay County, died at the home of his son, A. W.
Arnold, near Montezuma, Ga. Sunday night at half past 10 o'clock, and his
remains were brought back to his old home community for interment. The funeral
service was held at Spring Hill Tuesday morning and his remains were buried in
Spring Hill cemetery. His death was attributed to abscess of the brain with
which he had been troubled about two weeks, though his condition didn't appear
alarming to his friends till the day before his death. Mr. Arnold was 64 years
of age and had lived in Clay County all his life until about six years ago. He
made his home in Ashland several years and was engaged in business here. After
taking up his abode in Georgia he often visited here, his last visit being made
only a few weeks ago. He is survived by five sons and one daughter. Besides the
son mentioned above, with whom he resided, they are G. A. Arnold and Earl Arnold

Jenkins of Ashland. A large group of relatives and friends attended the funeral.
