  John A. Shirey died February 21, 1937
  
  John A. Shirey, aged 80 years died at his home in Timblin Sunday afternoon,
  February 21, 1937, following an illness of several weeks.
  
  The son of Simon and Rosanna (Hass) Shirey, he was born October 6, 1856 in
  Armstrong county.  He was united in marriage to Lemina Shaffer 55 years ago.
  Mrs. Shaffer preceded her husband in death by two years.  Mr. and Mrs.
  Shirey celebrated their gold wedding anniversary in 1931.
  	
  Mr. Shirey was a member of the Evangelical church of Timblin, and of the
  I.O.O.F. of that place.  In earlier life he taught school for many years in
  Jefferson county, and later became interested in farming
  	
  Three daughters survive, namely: Mrs. George Schrecengost, Clarion; Mrs.
  T.I. Miller, Mayport, and Mrs. Boyd Neel of Eddyville.  Twenty-one
  grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. John Shick of
  Pierce; Jesse and Charles of Mayport, and Charles of Oklahoma, also survive.
  
  	
  Funeral services were held from the  Timblin Evangelical church at 10
  oÕclock this (Wednesday) morning, followed by interment in the Timblin,
  cemetery.
