  William Shields died April 7, 1959
  
  William Shields, 79, a life-long resident of Summerville area, died Tuesday,
  April 7, in a rest home in Indiana, following a six month illness.  He was a
  resident of the Mt. Pleasant section of Jefferson County.
  	
  Born December 21, 1879, in Beaver Township, a son of Daniel and Emma Edmonds
  Shields, he was married to Lula Martz, who died several years ago.  Mr.
  Shields was a member of the Methodist Church and the P.O.S. of A.  He was a
  retired miner.
  	
  Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. James Eracoli, of Sagamore; one grandchild;
  three sisters, Mrs. Alice Jones, of Indiana, Mrs. James Eshbaugh, of
  Knoxdale, and Mrs. Emma Morrsison of Brookville, and two brothers, Robert
  Shields, of Brookville, and Richard Shields, of R1 Summerville.
  	
  Funeral services were held in the Reitz funeral Home in Brookville, Friday
  afternoon, April 10, at 2 oÕclock.  The Rev. Paul Betz officiated and
  interment followed in the Ohl Cemetery.
