  The Punxsutawney Spirit
   Lee E. "Tinker" Himes, 70, of 223 Park Ave., Punxsutawney, died Thursday, 
  October 27, 1988 at Blose-McGregor Health Care Center, Punxsutawney.  Mr. 
  Himes was born January 8, 1918 in Redbank Township, Armstrong County, the son 
  of Chris and Cornie (Brocious) Himes. He was married October 24, 1947 to the 
  former Nona E. Foster.  A resident of Punxsutawney for the past 41 years, Mr. 
  Himes was formerly of Porter. He was a retired coal miner and World War II 
  veteran.  He was a member of the American Legion in Punxsutawney, Veterans of 
  Foreign Wars in Punxsutawney, Army & Navy Club in Punxsutawney, L.O.O.Moose in 
  Punxsutawney and F. O. Eagles in Punxsutawney.  Surviving relatives include 
  his wife, Mrs. Nona E. Himes; one son, Robert E. Himes of Punxsutawney R.D.6; 
  one grandchild; two sisters; Pearl Bish of Punxsutawney, and Ada Kennedy of 
  Punxsutawney; and two brothers; Boyd Himes of Punxsutawney R.D.1, and Merle 
  Himes of Pittsburgh.  Mr. Himes was preceded in death by his parents. 
  Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Pifer Funeral Home of 
  Punxsutawney. Interment will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Bell Township.  
  Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and until time of 
  services Saturday at the funeral home.  The family has suggested that 
  memorials may be made to the Allegheny Mountain Chapter of the American Heart 
  Association.
