  The Punxsutawney Spirit
    Boyd Melvin Himes, 80, of Punxsutawney R.D. 1, died Friday March 8, 1996 in 
  an automobile accident in St. Marys County, Maryland.   Mr. Himes was born 
  August 22, 1915 in Redbank Township, Armstrong County, the son of Crist W. and 
  Connie Deibler (Brocious) Himes. He was married April 17, 1953 to the former 
  Grace E. Sharp, who preceded him in death on December 14, 1982.   Mr. Himes 
  had been employed as a fireman for B & O Railroad. A member of the V.F.W. post 
  in Mahaffey, he was of the protestant faith.   Surviving relatives include one 
  son, Donald L. Himes of Hollywood, Md.; two daughters, Mrs. Duane (Jean) 
  Ludwick of Valencia and Mrs. Louise Flynn of Butte, Mont.; 10 grandchildren; 
  17 great-grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; one brother Merle Himes 
  of Freedom; and two sisters, Mrs. Adda Kennedy of Punxsutawney an Mrs. Pearl 
  Bish of Punxsutawney.   In addition to his parents and his wife, Grace E. 
  Himes, he was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.   Funeral 
  services will be held at 8 p.m. Friday at the Deely Funeral Home of 
  Punxsutawney. Pastor Robert D. Bish will officiate. Interment will be at Mt. 
  Carmel Cemetery in Armstrong County.   Friends will be received from 2 to 4 
  and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
