  Obituary - Punxsutawney, PA
  J. EDWARD DORAN, PUNX'Y COUNCILMAN, DIES AT 71
  
  A Requiem High Mass will be celebrated in Punxsutawney Saturday for J. Edward 
  (Buckey) Doran, a city councilman and active civic and business leader who died 
  yesterday in the Adrain Hospital at the age of 71.
  
  Mr. Doran, at the time of his death, was the oldest active councilman in 
  Punx'y. He represented the fifth ward for many years. He was a past exalted 
  ruler of the Punx'y BPO Elks lidge, the oldest active member and a former chief 
  and president of the Lindsey Volunteer Fire Company, a member of the board of 
  directors of the Punxsutawney National Bank and a member of the Saints Cosmas 
  and Damian Church.
  
  He was born October 27, 1896, in Clayville, the area that now comprises 
  Punxsutawney's West End section, a son of John and Lottie Doran. He was married 
  August 14, 1943 to Mary Ethelda Hartman, who survives. Mr. Doran operated a 
  store and a beer distribution agency in the West End until his retirement 
  several years ago.
  
  Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two brothers, Wilbur A. Doran of 
  Lothrup, Mich. and Theo B. Doran, of Miami, Fla.  He leaves a cousin, Robert 
  Doran, of Lake City, PA and several neices and nephews.
  
  Friends will be received after 7 o'clock tonight in the Pifer Funeral Home in 
  Punxsutawney.  The Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 9 a.m. in the SS.C.D. 
  Church.  The Rev. Joseph J. Wiley will be the celebrant and interment will 
  following in the Calvary Cemetary in Punx'y.

  1st wife: Susanna Catheryn Sullivan died 11/28/1942, daughter of Patrick T. 
  Sullivan and Mary Ann Martin.
