BEATTY, Alfred 70
Alfred Beatty, 70, Box 51 Coolspring, died Monday in the Punxsutawney
Area Hospital.
Mr. Beatty was born April 24, 1907 in Hawthorn, the son of Miller and
Sara Lerner Beatty. He was married to Lucille Troutman, who survives,
and was a retired coal miner.
Survivors include his wife, a son, John A. of Coolspring, a daughter,
Mrs. Joseph (Susanna) Craft of West Edinburgh; nine grandchildren and
four great grandchildren. Friends will be received in the Galbraith
Funeral Home in Brookville Tuesday after 2 p,. Services will be held
Wednesday at 1 pm in the Galbraith Funeral Home with burial to follow in
the Coolspring Cemetery.

BEATTY, Mrs. Andrew S. August 30, 1929
Mrs. Andrew S. Beatty died at her home, 700 Woodland Ave., Thursday
afternoon at 1:45 of a complication of disease after a long illness. She
was 55 years of age. The deceased was a lifelong resident of this city,
a member of the U.B. Church, Rebekahs, Macabees, the D.A.R., and was held
in the highest esteem by all who knew her, a splendid mother, wife, and
neighbor, kindly, charitable, and patient, her death is sincerely
mourned.
She leaves her husband, and the following sons and daughter: Mrs.
Grace Henry, of Bellwood, and Ira and Fred, of Punxsutawney. Three
grand children also survive; one of them, Eugene Henry, making his home
with Mrs. Beatty.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon beginning at 2 o'clock
at the home with Rev. Sharpe officiating. Burial will be in the Weber
Cemetery.

BEATTY, Augustus L. May 17, 1930
Augustus L. Beaty, age 72, of Fairview fell on the corner of
South Penn and Liberty Street about 3:30 Wednesday afternoon and was
carried into the J.F. Startzell Home where he died of heart trouble ten
minutes later. He was distributing circulars at the time.
The deceased was born near McGees Mills, a son of Elias and
Jenny Beatty, and was reared to young manhood there. On December 21,
1880 he was united in marriage to Miss Frances Simpson of near this
city. He had been a farmer until about 21 years ago when he moved to
Punxsutawney, and for the past twlve years had been distributing
circulars for local and out of town firms.
The deceased was an honorable industrious citizen, one who
could be depended upon to do what he believed was right, and his death
is sincerely mourned by the many friends he had made through out this
section.
He leaves his widow, one daughter and two sons; Mrs Harry Craft,
N.L. and N.C. Beatty of this city and one brother, Harry . Beatty of this
city. Eight grand children and eight great grand children also survive.
Funeral Service will be held beginning at 2 o'clock at the late
home of the deceased, .Fairview. Saturday afternoon, with interment in
Greenwood Cemetery. Rev. Fulton will officiate.

BEATTY, David A. Obituary dated August 9, 1944
Funeral services were held Friday in Punxsutawney followed by
internment in the Marchand Cemetery for David A. Beatty, age 68, of
Punxsutawney, who died August 1 in his home.
A son of William and Matilda (Miller) Beatty, he was born in
Cookport, and was a resident of Indiana and Blairsville for many years
before locating in Punxsutawney.
Surviving are his widow and these childen;
Harry Beatty of Punxsutawney, Mrs. Guy Manners of Brockway, Mrs.
Herman Atheide, Mrs. Ralph Lingenfelter, Dale and Wayne Beatty, all
of Youngstown, Ohio. He also leaves a brother and sister, Milton, and
Mrs. William Malcolm, both of Pittsburgh.

BEATTY, Earl L. 1/1969
Funeral Services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 in the Galbraith
Funeral Home in Brookville for Earl L. Beatty of Munderf Star Route,
Brookville, who died Thursday in the Brookville Hospital. Mr.
Beatty was born in Pinecreek Township December 1, 1901, a son of Charles
and Loretta Carberry Beatty. He married Margaret Marshall of
Reynoldsville. He was a farmer and school teacher. Surviving are his
wife; three sons and two daughters, Mrs. Merrill Haines of Munderf Star
Route, Brookville, Earl L. Beatty of Rockton, RD1, John M. Beatty of
Brookville, Mrs. Philip Medell, of Falls Church, VA., Ray Beatty of
Brookville. Surviving are also nine grandchildren and one sister, Mrs.
Alma Lindemuth of Munderf Star Route, Brookville.

BEATTY, Mrs Frances E. (wife of Augustus)
Mrs Frances E. Beatty, age 85 years, died Wednesday morning, May
24, in the home of Mrs. Harry Craft, on East Mahoning Street, this city,
after an illness of six months. She was born near Mahaffey, Clearfield
County, May 22, 1859, the daughter of James and Mary Jenkins Simpson,
and on December 12, 1879 was married to Augustus L. Beatty. He died in
1930. She was a member of the Methodist Church and had resided in
Punxsutawney for the past thirty one years, and she was held in high
esteem. She is survived by one
daughter, Mrs. Harry Craft, of Punxsutawney; two sons, Nornam and Clair
Beatty of Punxsutawney; two sisters, Mrs. Frank McDivitt and Mrs Austin
McDivitt and one brother, Grant Simpson, all of Clearfield; also eight
grand children, twenty two great grand children and one great great
grand child.
Funeral services were held in the Craft home Saturday afternoon.
Internment in Greenwood Cemetery.

BEATTY, George L. September 11, 1972
George Lawrence Beatty, a guest at Jefferson Manor, died there Monday,
September 11, 1972 at the age of 78 years.
Born at Yatesboro March 24, 1894 he was the son of Miles and Sara
(Rareigh) Beatty. He was amrried to May Brumberg, who died in 1968. Mr.
Beatty had been a miner all his life. He was a member of the Meade
Chapel Church. Surviving are four children: William of Butlerl Mrs.
Dorothy Carr, of Brockway; Mrs. June Brooks, of Brookville, RD1; and
Mrs. Elizabeth Slater, of Columbia City, Indiana.
Sixteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and two great-great
grandchildren also survive as does a sister, Mrs. helen Spatafore, of
Warren. Funeral services were held Wednesday September 13 at 2:00pm at
Leonard Ross Work Funeral Home with Pastor David W. McMurdy officiating.
Interment was at Lakelawn Memorial Park.

BEATTY, Jay D.:
Brockway - Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 11 am from Carlson
Funeral Home for Jay D. Beatty, 949 Fifth Ave., who died Saturday at his
home. He was 56.
The Rev. Arnold Ohl will officiate and burial will be in Greenridge
Memorial Park, Connellsville. Friends are being received at the
Carlson funeral Home here.
Mr. Beatty was born in Connellsville Nov. 23, 1912, son of John and Cora
harrington Beatty. He was married to the former florence Miller, who
survives. He was a retired employee of Brockway Glass Co., member of the
Moorehead Methodist Church; and the Masonic Lodge of Ridgeway. Besides
his wife, Mr. Beatty is survived by four sisters, Miss Clara Beatty;
Mrs. Fraances Garlick; Mrs. Kathryn Phuntek, all of Connellsville; Mrs.
Jessie Moser, Amherst, O.; and two brothers, Robert E., Connellsville;
Earl, Winchester, Ind.

BEATTY, J. Shields November 7, 1970
J. Shields Beatty, of 210 Greenwood Avenue, Punxsutawney, died in Adrian
hospital on Saturday, November 7, 1970. Funeral Services were held
Tuesday Nov. 10 at 1:00 pm at Pifer Funeral Home in Punxsutawney with
Rev. Herbert Lohr officiating. Internment was in Circle Hill Cemetery.
A veteran of World War I, he was the retired head of the printing
department of the Punxsutawney Spirit. He was a resident of Punxsutawney
and Jefferson County most of his life.
Born September 15, 1897 in Jefferson County he was the son of harry and
Etta Lyons Beatty. he was amarried to Martha McGee , of Knox Township,
April 28, 1924. Surviving are his wife and two sons; Paul beatty fo
Punxsutawney; and Joseph Beatty fo Detroit, Mich.
five grandchildren also survive as do two sisters and a brother: Mrs.
Warren McGee, Mrs. Carl Frantz and Harry Beatty, all of Punxsutawney.

Maybelle Beatty, 79, of Punxsutawney, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 1969,
in the Adrian Hospital, Punxsutawney
Born September 11, 1890 in Wishaw, she was the daughter of Jonathan and
Barbara Pifer Dickey. She was married to Newton Beatty, who preceded her
in death. Mrs. Beatty was a lifelong resident of Punxsutawney.
Surviving are one daughter and one son; Mrs. Wayne ( Lucille ) Lowman
of Homer City, Robert, Penn Hills, three sisters and a brother; Mrs
Mary Holenbaugh, Punxsutawney, R.D. 5, Mrs Anna Moorehead and Miss
Orpha Dickey, of Reynoldsville, Calvin Dickey, Conneaut, six grand
children.
Friends are being received at the Pifer Funeral home. Punxsutawney,
where services will be held Saturday, at 1 PM.
Interment will be at the Syphrite Cemetery, Reynoldsville

BEATTY, Newton Nov. 21, 1963
Funeral services will be held here, Saturday afternoon, for Newton
Beatty of Cherry Street, a retired painter, who died Thursday in the
Adrian Hospital. He was 72 years of age.
Mr. Beatty was born August 14, 1891, in McGees Mills, a son of
Augustus and Francis Simpson Beatty and was married to Maybelle Dickey.
He was a member of the local Moose Lodge. He had resided in
Punxsutawney the past 47 years.
Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Mrs Wayne Lowman of Homer City, a
son Robert Beatty, of Penn Hills, Pa., and six grand children.
Friends will be received after 7 o'clock tonight at the Pifer Funeral
Home here. Interment will be in the Paradise Methodist Cemetery.

BEATTY, Mrs. Etta Esther Published Aug. 5, 1964 - Punxsutawney NewsPaper
Mrs. Etta Esther Beatty, a resident of this city the past 70 years,died
yesterday at the age of 91.
Born June 15, 1873, in Bell Township, Clearfield County, she was
the daughter of Jacob and Salomia Rupert Lyons, and was married February,
1891 to Harry E.Beatty, who died in 1933.
Surviving are two sons and two daughters; Mrs Carl Frantz and HarryH.
Beatty of Punxsutawney. R.D. 1; Mrs. Warren McGee and J. Shields Beatty,
both of this city; nine grandchildren and 9 great-grand children; and a
brother, Lewis Lyons of Mahaffey.
Friends will be received after 7 o'clock tonight at the Pifer Funeral
Home here, where services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock. The
Rev. J.F. Shafer will officiate, and burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Sarah (Lucille) Beatty, 67 March 8, 1980
Sarah (Lucille) Beatty, 67, of Coolspring died March 8, 1980 at the
Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
Mrs. Beatty was born August 3, 1912, the daughter of John Henry and
Annie (Himes) Troutman.
She was a member of the Salvation Army Church of Punx'y, and worked for
the Big Run Shoe Factory for about 10 years.
She was married to George Alfred Beatty, who died in 1977.
Survivning relatives include: one son, John A. Beatty of Coolspring; one
daughter Mrs. Joe (Susannah) Craft, of Struthers, Ohio; nine
grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; one brother John Troutman of
St Petersburg, Fla; two sisters, Grace hilliard of Sykesville and Judy
Marie Haley of Boulder, Colorado. She was preceded in Death by her
parents, onw sister, one brother and two granddaughters. Funeral service
will be held today at 3:30 pm from the Galbraith Funeral Home,
Brookville. Friends are being received at the funeral home until the
time of the service. Lt. Robin Lyle will officiate at the service.
Interment will follow at the Coolspring Cemetery.

Martha M. Beatty, 83, 210 Greenwood Ave., Punxsutawney, died
Tuesday, June 23, 1981, in the Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
The daughter of William and Mary ( Hendricks ) McGee, she was born
February 22, 1898, in Punxsutawney.
Mrs Beatty was a member of the Woodland Avenue United Methodist
Church. Punxsutawney. She had lived all her life in the Punxsutawney area.
Survivng are two sons, Joseph, San Jose, Calif.; Paul of
Punxsutawney; five grand children; two great grand children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Shields Beatty, who she
married in 1924, five brothers, one sister
Friends will be recived from 7-9 PM today, and from 2-4 and 7-9 pm
Thursday in the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney, where a service will be
held at 1 PM, Friday, June 26, with the Rev. John Uhrin, Jr. officiating
Interment will be made in Circle Hill Cemetery, Punxsutawney.
