  ELMER T. ALLEN

Again it becomes necessary for us to chronicle the death of one of our well
known and respected citizens, Elmer Allen, which occurred at his home on Main

Elmer Thomas Allen, the son of Marvin and Mary Allen was born on the Allen
farm, now the Hafner farm, just east of Brockway on November 13, 1860. He was
united in marriage with Eva Richards of Warsaw township at the bride's home on
September 23, 1885. To this union one child was born, Nellie, Mrs. Willis
Crawford, who with his widow survives him. He is also survived by two
brothers, Charles Allen, of Rimersburg and Chester Allen, of Brookville.

Mr. Allen was a member of the Presbyterian Church at this place. He was a man
who made friends and kept them. Always cheerful he had a happy greeting for
every one. He will be missed by a large circle of friends. Death is sad at any
time but at the holiday time is especially so, and the family have the sincere
sympathy of their friends in this bereavement.

Funeral services will be held this afternoon (Wednesday) at 2 o'clock, at the
home, conducted by his pastor, Rev. L. L. Tait assisted by Rev. J. L. Buck of
the M. E. Church and interment will take place in the Temple Cemetery at
  Warsaw.
