 James Richard Bennett, 74, of Nashville, died September 24, 2014, at the 
residence of his brother.
 He was born April 23, 1940, in Berrien County to the late James Benjamin and 
Mina Lou Nix Bennett. He was retired from the United States Navy, was an active 
member of the VFW, and was of the Methodist faith. He was preceded in death by 
his wife, Louise Bennett, who died in 1997; stepdaughter, Joyce Bennett; 
brother, Ronnie Bennett.
 Survivors include stepdaughter, Cathy Bennett of Nashville; stepson, John Smith 
of Nashville; five sisters Hilda (Donald) Tidwell of Ray City, Helen (Billy) 
Crowley, Ann (Kenneth) Skinner, Bonnie (Mike) Jilcott, and Vanessa Bennett (her 
daughter, Cheyenne), all of Nashville; brother, Wayne (Cathy) Bennett of 
Nashville; sister-in-law, Patsy Bennett of Nashville; numerous nieces and 
nephews.
 Funeral services were held September 26 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Lovein 
Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Ray and Rev. Carl Morrison officiating.
 Interment, with full military honors, was in the Bennett Family Cemetery.
 In lieu of flowers, please  make memorial contributions to the church of your 
choosing or to The Gideons.
 Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
