 Mildred Mae Barnes, 83, of Nashville died September 12, 2014, at Lakehaven 
Nursing Center.
 She was born May 20, 1931, in Clay County, AL to the late Reubin and Lennie Gay 
Baker Laney. She was a homemaker and a retired housekeeper with the Florida 
Lions Camp in Lake Wales, FL. She was a member of Lake Wales Free Holiness 
Church and the widow of Alfred Charles Barnes who died in 2005. She was also 
preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
 She is survived by four daughters, Janice (Jerry) Hamby of Fort Payne, AL, 
Pamela (Carl) Hass of Nashville, Carolyn (Tony) Hancock of Nashville, and 
Melissa Smith of Frostproof, FL; two sons, Charles “Buddy” (Debbie) Barnes of 
manila, AR and Anthony Barnes of Davenport, FL; two sisters, Inez Conners of 
Lake Wales and Judy Smith of Trenton; brother, John Laney of Flat Rock, AR; 14 
grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
 Funeral services were held on September 14 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Lovein 
Funeral Home with the Rev. Floyd Williams officiating.
 Interment was on September 16 in Lake Wales City Cemetery at 2 p.m.
 Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
