Roanoke Leader
Jones Almon, 16 or 17-year-old Negro youth was shot and fatally wounded Sunday 
night by Herbert Adamson at the latter's home near Wehadkee. According to the 
story told in this office by the latter's mother, Adamson, 28-year-old Negro, 
married and with three children, and Almon were spending the night at Adamsons 
house and sleeping together. During the night Almon is reported to have had sort 
of spell and his kicking and jerking partly roused Adamson, who, thinking that 
he was being attacked, tried to escape from the room but, failing to find the 
door, began to shoot, hitting Almon is reported to have had some what he had 
done he brought the victim to a local hospital, went back and brought the 
victim's family, and then surrendered to police. The wounded youth died about 
two hours after being wounded.
