Marvin A. Smith 

SYLVESTER — Marvin A. “Smitty” Smith, 69, of Albany died October 17, 2007, at 
his residence. 

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Banks Funeral Chapel with 
interment in Damascus Cemetery (Worth County). The Rev. Ronnie Lawson will 
officiate. 

Born April 9, 1938, in Colquitt County, to India Bell Hayes Smith and Arvin 
Allison Smith, Mr. Smith had lived in Albany most of his life. He was a retired 
truck driver with Transus Truck Lines and served in the U.S. Navy. He was a 
member of Sylvester First Freewill Baptist Church. 

In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel 
Marie Harris Smith, August 19, 2002. 

Survivors include his daughter, Penny Morgan and Otis of Albany; three 
stepdaughters, Norma Marie Craft and Tony of White City, FL, Robin Leigh Lautt 
of Mexico Beach, FL, and Stacey Dee Rexroat of Unadilla; one stepson, Winfred 
Marcus Raburn Sr. of Leesburg; two sisters, Ruth Baker of Valdosta and Fay 
Nieves of Ft. Myers, FL; two grandchildren; five step grandchildren; two 
nieces; two nephews; nine great-nieces and nephews; four great-great-nieces and 
nephews; and a number of cousins. 

The family will receive friends Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Banks Funeral 
Home.
